Dead Red Sun are a contemporary rock trio from South East London. They formed in late 2010 and began making appearances in venues across the city, delivering their unique blend of math and post rock to unsuspecting audiences.
In May 2011, saw the release their first self-titled EP, and produced their own hand-made small edition of 250 CDs. They headlined a night in collaboration with Clinic Presents, playing to a packed out Amersham Arms in their homestead of New Cross, with the amazing Tubelord as support.
Recently they featured in a live session for Beatcast. It's their intense and hypnotic live sound that describe the music best.
DRS belong in your ears and your eyes, so keep them peeled.

I am blown away by the curator's abilty to find produce these wonderfully cohesive collections of new music. It's a great way to get the bands' the exposure they deserve.
But here it's so hard to pick a favourite! Ruins because... I don't know... something clicked.
The whole double album is worth every penny. Peter Jones
Anyone homesick for the classic sound of ’90s math rock will fall in love with the jagged guitars & tricky tempos on “LLC.” Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 6, 2023
Someone needs to tell _all_ these bands - and possibly the curator - that "progressive" does not mean repeating the same idea, no matter how good, so many times that even your fans are screaming for you to stop. It does not mean then switching to the next idea and repeating that until it's bored the audience into submission. And then switching to the next.
Progressive means having new ideas.
Padding means taking a good idea adding lots of unnecessary overhead.
There's a _lot_ of padding... Peter Jones
